MY BEST SHOJO MANGA LIST

I'm a big fans of manga. But I'm not otaku, haha. I love shojou the most. And Josei (with NO smut), and shonen. This just a list I made myself, so it's really my personal point of view. Ah, if there any numbers here, it's just  numbers. I don't mean to set ranking here. Actually, I CAN'T DECIDE which the best! lol

1. LOVELY COMPLEX by Aya Nakahara

I just love this series sooo muuuccchh. I read it many times, and never get bored. As how Otani turn Risa's feeling up and down, this manga made my feeling up and down. I laugh a lot, but i got hurt in my heart, sometimes.  And my favorite phrase in this manga: "Jantungku gatal!" (dont really know how to put this in english, sorry... hmm... "my heart itch?" xD ) Well, I love many of Aya Nakahara-sensei works, like Nanaco Robin and Benkyou Shinasai, they're cute! but Lovely Complex is the best for me

.

Story:
Risa Koizumi is the tallest girl in the class, while Atsushi Otani is the shortest boy in the class. Both of them often be reffered as duo japan comedian, All Hashin Kyojin, as they really like to argue each other and has significant high difference. No one could imagine that something "romantic" may happen between these two, but.. who knows what would happen next? *smirk*

2. Taiyou No Ie by TAAMO

Uhmm.. if lovely complex would give you a refreshing comedy love story, then Taiyou no ie is giving you a heart warming feeling, a cute feeling that made you want to smile. Well, this story has dark and sad background, but really it's not a dark story. If you longing for a heart warming, cute, heart-breaking, realistic, and lovely love story, I highly recommended this for you.
ps: I cry while reading this manga. And have my cheeck's reddish. And smile happily. Darn. What should I say? TAAMO-sensei, IT'S A WONDERFUL STORY!

Story:
As the tittle said, "taiyou no ie" or "house of the sun". There is a house with warmness inside, Nakamuras' house. When Mao was a little girl, she often to play in this house, with her childhood friends, childrens of Nakamuras. Mao feels better in Nakamura's house than in her own house, because Nakamuras always give her warmness. Mao's mom run with another man, and leave her and her father alone. Unfortunately, Nakamuras parents died in an accident, this change everything. He worked hard, believing that his siblings would be back to their house, someday. Now, Mao is a high school student, and Hiro Nakamura works as an independent adult. Mao and his father circumtance getting worse after her father remarried. Mao has no place to come back, even his father seems have no intention to live together with Mao. Looking Mao so down, Hiro, as he always did when they were still kids, invite her to go to his house. This time, to live together in his warm house.

3. Fruits Basket by Takaya Natsuki

Usually, I don't like too long shojo manga, because it often made me bored. But No With Fruits Basket! Here is another heart warming manga. I think this is the only shojo manga with so many life lesson, and great quotes, too. Actually, this manga inspired me to be a stronger person, to live my life better, and to love my self. The ending was good, too. I love how this manga placed human as a human. There's no real bad character in this manga, and no real good-fairy like character. And, yeah, this is a ROMANTIC manga, with cute scenes, hehehe.

Story:
Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school girl, is taken in by the wealthy Shigure Sohma when he realizes she has nowhere else to go. However, the Sohma family shares a secret, and it isn't long before Tohru discovers that there's a reason why her classmates, Yuki and Kyo Sohma, never let girls get near them, and never talk about their lives before they lived with Shigure. And before she knows it, Tohru has become so tangled up in the lives of each member of the Sohma family that she couldn't leave even if she wanted to.

4. Kimi Ni Todoke by Shiina Karuho

Yeaaah!!! This is one cuuuuteee innocent love story of Kazehaya and Sawako. I love the manga, dorama, and also the anime! Hehe, i'm a big fan of Kimi ni todoke. It's rare to find this kind of manga, i think. It is so cute innocent so I hope this kind of thing really happen in the real world. lol. It has slow pace, too, so I think some people would think it's a boresome. But NO. For one of them who always follow this manga, I found that this is the interest part of this series. The slow pace, develop the characters, and bring a big "BANG!" at the point it have to blossom.

Story:
Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine... for a horror movie. With her jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor, she's often mistaken for the haunting movie character Sadako. But behind her scary facade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when a popular boy in class befriends her, she's sure to make more than just that--she's about to make some enemies too! (from mangaupdates.com)
ps:
BEST POINT:
I love Kazehaya! I think this is why I found this series so lovely. As a popular boy, kazehaya is not a usually heroine with big act or cool behavior that I had bored of. Shota Kazehaya just a normal boy! This is the best! He's blushing and all nervous when he stare at Kuronuma's eye. He have pervert-side too, khukhukhu. And fast tempered. Actually, Kazehaya not perfect at all!! And he fall in love with Sawako because it really a love from the start, no sign of pity or anything. Hahaha! Pure and Innocent Kazehaya!! BANZAII!
And Sawako is not type of shojo girl that I can hate. Despite her appearance, she is an adorable girl. I love Sawako personality. She's an optimist girl, never think bad about other person, and always honest about her feeling. This why she's different from "annoying shojo girl" that usually appear in this type of story. Like in "koko ni iru yo". I dont really like the girl in koko ni iru yo. I think she's in the same shoes with kuronuma, but she face her problem in annoying way, so I stop read it. Kuronuma always working hard for other people, with her pure intention to make other person happy, from her heart. She's just can't express her feeling very well to other person, that makes her easy to missunderstood by other person. She working hard to change and make friends, with support from Kazehaya, but it's not like Kazehaya help her with his popularity. I love how my baby Sawako always work hard to overcome her situation. :)
So yeah, these two loveable character make this series as my favorite shojo manga for this time!

5. Dengeki Daisy by Motomi Kyousuke

Okay, one of Motomi Kyousuke best work so far, for me. Hehe. It's so typical from this author: strong willing and positive thinking girl heroine, cool but romantic-inside boy heroine, and hilarious (often stupid) love journey. lol.
Yeah, as a shojo, the plot is really unique. Even in some of dialog in this manga, it said that this is not shojo manga, what the heck? hahaha, funny! It's funny, but once it get into romantic scene.... Oh, shit, this is tooooo romantic. I'm a girl, so I'm weak about these kind of thing~ what? just read the manga, you'll understand what I mean! fufufu :3
love will find the way! xD

Story:

Meanwhile, Teru meets and forms a strange friendship with mysterious Tasuku Kurosaki, her school's janitor. For some reason, Kurosaki always seems to be around whenever Teru needs help which leads Teru to wonder: Could Daisy be a lot closer than she thinks?

As the mystery of Daisy unfolds, Teru also discovers that there may have been a lot more to the life and death of her brother than she ever dreamed . . . and that the man she thought was her friend just might have all the answers.(from mangaupdates.com)

okay, that's all for now.
How about Ouran High School of Special A? I've heard they're good. Akazukin-san, don't you like them?

Uhm... Well, I don't really like those kind of shojo. It's funny, but I don't feel I got much from those kind of manga. You know, I don't get that "doki-doki" feeling from OHS or S.A, but they're good just for time waster.
